OPPOSE LUMBEE RECOGNITION BILL -CASINO
==About This Petition== The BIA and Indian Health also are facing massive budget cuts The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities estimated that without some Super Committee savings, the cuts for Indian Health Service would be at the 2 percent level and other“non-exempt programs” (such as the Bureau of Indian Affairs) would be hit with a 9.3 percent reduction. The Congressional Budget Office says the cuts would be about $109 billion, divided evenly over nine years from 2013 to 2021 Many groups seek to obtain these benfits with recognition claims even amist controversy and the in ability to proove an irrefutable Indian historic connection to any tribe only theorys and imagined fractional ancestrys.Using the state status as a jumping tool and claim to the federal recogniton. Many lobby and pay of politician with votes or other benefits a Political ploy and has nothing to do with any theoretical or imagined indian heritage having never been a sovereign nation or having any treatys and having no claim to land trust, reservation or any governmental wrong doings to their claimed tribe specifically. Most are just \"Individuals\" with some perceived fractional ancestry based on family myth. These claims cost in the Hundreds of millions of dollars at taxpayer expense for eternity once approved. The Lumbee claim is estimated to cost near 800million every 4 years to the Taxpayers further taking from true reservation peoples who ancestors were forced marcher or removed to some reservation by no choice of their own. Example,The Lumbee Constitution refers to these census lists as the “Source Documents.” Yet the individuals on these lists cannot be specifically identified and verified as Cheraw Indians. In fact, these individuals cannot be identified as belonging to any tribe whatsoever. These are lists of people who self-identified or were identified by the census as “Indian”. House Resources Committee members have recognized the weaknesses and complexities in the Lumbee group’s claim to tribal recognition, this is typical of the group seeking federal recognition the true motivations lie in these groups goal of operating a CASINO big business and has nothing to do with Indian culture which they completely lack. Most of these groups have no treatys,no reservation and no indian culture at all and no Indian language it is simply a cover for some type of government benefit which they seek ,something free or to operate a CASINO claiming they need it to maintain their non-existing cultures. The Lumbee Constitution refers to these census lists as the“Source Documents.”Yet the individuals on these lists cannot be specifically identified and verified as\"Cheraw Indians\" on any source. *In fact, these Lumbee ancestor individuals cannot be identified as belonging to any tribe whatsoever
