To Sage; Nothing is fair! It's about money & power and whereas we might be right they are only empty words. We don't have the power or leverage to make a change. Our choice here can be summed up as pick your poison. I believe the Govrmt is an improvement over the ins cos.As far as the cost it's not so simple The Govmt & ins co are already paying most of that through cost shifting & increased cost when people end up going to emergency room instead of a primary care doctor.Maybe you're right from an idealist point of view but from a practical point of view providing good health care to as many people as possible is the goal & this a vast improvement over the current system. Seriously maybe your dislike of big government is clouding your perspective.I think we need to make a compassionate practical decision that saves lives regardless of ideological distaste.It's really a different paradigm when illness strikes someone you care about & their left with no way to afford health care.
