The factor that most pro people give is the word livestock and that horses have been sold and bought through auctions for generations so that makes them a food source???

All the auction was for to bring animals off of the farm and ranch to be bought and sold, but horses were never bought and sold for human consumption until just a few years ago.

Now look at that point and think about that reality and fact.

I may not know everything about this whole issue of horse slaughter, but for me the most important is how we treat these animals that have served us so well at the end of what they have done for us to make money and do things around the farm and ranch.

Times have changed. Horses are more for entertainment, sports, therapy, companions and pets than ever before. People now see horses in a very different way than just a working horse on a ranch that moved cattle around.

We may or may not like these new views of horses, but it is here to stay. Your choice!
