Al H, that is an old argument that was invented by the pro slaughter to scare people. It is called the slippery slope and is not true.
Horses are worse off now? Surely you aren't trying to relate that to the availability of slaughter. If you are, thank you for proving our point. More horses were slaughtered last year than the previous year when domestic slaughter was still available. That proves that as slaughter counts increase, so does abuse and neglect. We have been saying that for years.
Your statement that all veterinarians oppose the bill. Is false. The truth is that most vets oppose the legislation. Many of them are posting on this thread in favor of the legislation. The AVMA opposes the legislation but that is the organization, not the members. The members were never polled. If you want to see what the vet membership believes, visit the Vets for equine welfare site.
