Have to agree with Aaron. I teach in an elementary school where the school breakfast/lunch/afterschool program snack program is alive and well. It is startling to see the amount of food that gets tossed out. If you are going to provide meals, consider cheerios for breakfast and peanutbutter and jelly daily for lunch. If students get sick of it maybe they will bring their own lunch. This is one area where it seems the humane thing to do to feed low income children, but you cannot make them eat what is served. This is an area where we could save taxpayer money. Our district just spend $30,000 on a computer program to give the lunch menu more variety. Stop wasting taxpayers' money. The school lunch program is broken.
