As a retired Federal Agent, I have pulled over many times out of sight of LE or the person they stopped, especially in remote areas, just to offer assistance as a last resort. Being armed, I would not hesitae to pull up behind the officer, identify myself and offer him any assistance he or she may need. Just think about it, your stopping

a car load of unknowns, 40 miles from no where, and no chance for a response that would save your life.

I feel for these guys and gals, there is no such thing as "two person patrols", they need all the help they can get, moral or physical if need be. Let's get this passed. And yes, if need be on some of the occassions I would have gone in without being armed, but then there would have been two statistics, I would rest in peace knowing I did my part.
