Who do you think pays for locking up all druggies up for life? Taxpayers. So locking them up and throwing away the key doesn't make sense. What ever happened to the possibility of rehabilitation? Wouldn't the money to keep them incarcerated for ridiculous amounts of time be better spent on helping them turn their lives around? Besides, why should crack sentences be weighted more than other drugs? I agree that people should do time for illegal sale and use of drugs, BUT I think a true Christian would want to help people to be better instead of just locking someone up for life.
