Hi,
as a German I enjoid visiting the USA more or less every year with my familiy. It is a fabulous country and after having waited for an hour for crossing the - usually friendly - immigration staff I was not checked anymore while in the US. But the cost to enter the country already increased dramatically over the past years. When I entered the first time with my family, the children could use their children passports. The next year this was not accepted anymore (50$ per child for a new passport). The year after only machine readable passports were accepted ($70 per person). Two year later the passport requires a chip ($70 per person). And now a $ 10 fee should be imposed to promote tourissm to the USA? - Sorry but this is nothing else than a visa fee implemented through the back door and I will spent my vacation - while such fee is imposed rather in Canada in future. I hope to see America again - but not as long as such kind of fee is imposed.
