HR 2900 is nominally intended to fund the FDA; however, it would also establish the Reagan-Udall Foundation, a non-profit corporation outside the FDA that would be partly responsible for the review of proposed new drugs. The board of directors of this corporation would include, among others, drug company representatives!
Imagine that: making drug company representatives responsible for reviewing the very products they are eager to get on the market...
