H.R. 2496 would prioritize payments to members of the Armed Forces, including reservists, in the event the debt ceiling is reached. Who could possibly oppose such a bill?! Well, Social Security recipients. Medicare and Medicaid recipients. Other government employees. Holders of Treasury bills. Nobody!
