On the Blog: Big Mini Spending

The Senate plans to debate a small omnibus spending bill this week. But the “minibus” is not all that small when you consider that it spends $2,900 per U.S. family.

Read about it in a post entitled: “The Big Spending Bill They Call ‘Minibus’.”

Featured Item

This week, the Senate will debate H.R. H.R. 4660, The Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2015.

The Senate’s plan is to replace the language of the bill that the House passed with text from a trio of Senate spending bills: S. 2389, S. 2437, and S. 2438.

As passed by the House, H.R. 4660 would cost about $580 per U.S. family. There is no cost estimate for the language that will be inserted into the bill, but the sum of the costs of the other three bills is $2,900.

The Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2015
