On the Blog: It’s a Government Shutdown

The fiscal year ends at midnight tonight (Monday), and it appears as though the House and Senate will not come to agreement on a bill to fund the government.

Read about it in a post entitled: “It’s a Shutdown, Then!

Featured Item

For the last two weeks, the House and Senate have been batting back and forth a “continuing resolution” intended to fund the government temporarily.

The latest version of H.J. Res. 59, the Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2014, funds the government until December 15th and delays Obamacare implementation for a year. The Senate is not expected to pass that bill.

Funding the government through December 15th would cost a little over $7,200 per U.S. family.
