On the Blog: Spending Showdown

The House and Senate are going toe-to-toe over Obamacare spending, a situation we didn’t expect when we reported on the spending debate last week. And Rep. Jack Kingston’s office contacted us last week to correct the record.

Read about it in a post entitled: “We Were Wrong—and the Government May Soon Shut Down!

Featured Item

Last week, the House passed a “continuing resolution” intended to fund the government until December 15th, but denying funds to implement Obamacare.

H.J. Res. 59, the Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2014, now goes to the Senate, which will seek to pass its own version of the bill. Without an agreement, the government will shut down on October 1st.

Funding the government through December 15th costs a little over $7,200 per U.S. family.
