On the Blog: New Laws

It wasn’t actually because of complaints about unproductivity, but Congress passed a number of new laws before beginning its August recess.

Read about it in a post entitled: “Ya’ Want More Laws? Here They Are!.”

Featured Item

Congress continues its summer break.

One of the bills recently signed into law is Public Law 113-23, The Hydropower Regulatory Efficiency Act of 2013.

The law allows the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to extend permits to hydroelectric facilities and exempt small hydroelectric facilities from its licensing requirements. The law also directs the Secretary of Energy to study the feasibility of generating hydroelectric power using water flowing through conduits or at facilities that store water.

The law costs about $0.02 per average family.
