On the Blog: The “Fiscal Cliff”
The post-election talk is all about a “fiscal cliff” coming at the end of the year. There might be reasons not to do it right now, but it’s hard to say that improving the government’s fiscal situation is like going over a cliff.
We went into it in a blog post entitled: “The Fiscal Cliff Isn’t a Cliff.”

The House and Senate have returned from campaigning and the election.
This week, the House will debate a number of bills, including H.R. 6156, the Russia and Moldova Jackson-Vanik Repeal Act of 2012.
The bill would grant normal trade relations status to Moldova and the Russian Federation, which would grant them trade advantages with the United States, such as low tariffs.
Passage of H.R. 6156 would cost about one penny per U.S. family.
The Senate will debate S. 3525, the Sportsmen’s Act of 2012.
The bill would give hunters increased access to federal lands.
There is no cost estimate for S. 3525.
