Your Chance to Advance Government Transparency
Look on this list—do you see your state? If so, here’s your chance to advance government transparency.
Connecticut, Maine, Michigan, Oklahoma, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Delaware, Arizona, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Louisiana, Ohio, Missouri, Kentucky, Montana, Kansas, Alaska
You see, a senator from each of these states sits on the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee in the Senate. That’s where the DATA Act has been sent for consideration now that the House has passed it.
Will they move the bill forward, or will they sit on it? That’s up to you.
If you communicate with your senator, the bill might move forward. If you don’t, it probably won’t.
So here’s a list of senators on that committee with links to their contact pages. So? Go ahead! Contact!
If you’re not from one of these states, you can help by contacting your own senator. Do it now!
Say something like: “I’d like to see H.R. 2146, the DATA Act, passed in your committee and sent to the Senate floor. I’ll be checking in on your progress in moving this bill. Thank you!”
Always be polite, and always be persistent.
Don’t wait. Click.
