On the Blog: Control of Congress’ Pay
This week, the House of Representatives will consider H.R. 3835, a bill to extend the current pay limitation for members of Congress and federal employees.
We featured the bill in a brief blog post that includes information about our petition to stop automatic pay raises. It’s entitled: “No Automatic Pay Raise for Congress.”
Some other new bills along these lines would bar members of Congress and senators from being paid when they haven’t enacted a budget for the federal government. Learn more in a post entitled: “No Budget, No Pay.”

This week, the Senate will debate S. 2038. The bill would prohibit members of Congress from using nonpublic information they learn in their official capacities for personal benefit, such as by investing based on that information.
There is no cost estimate for S. 2038 yet.
