This week, the House is scheduled to debate H. J. Res. 79, The Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2012. It would spend money to run the federal government through November 18th. The 2012 fiscal year begins October 1st, but Congress has not passed any spending bills for the new fiscal year.
Passage of H. J. Res. 79 would spend a little over a half trillion dollars, or about $4,900 per U.S. family.
