More Spending Bills on the Move

Though there is still no budget, the House of Representatives is moving two more of the twelve bills that will determine federal spending for the coming fiscal year.

So, with the House not meeting this week, we’re doing another special email dedicated to appropriations for fiscal 2012, which begins October 1st. The bills below spend about $6,600 per U.S. family. Read on…

Featured Items

Last week, the House began debate on H.R. 2219, the Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2012.

The bill would fund the Department of Defense: the Army, Navy (including the Marine Corps), the Air Force, and the Office of Secretary of Defense, as well as the Central Intelligence Agency and the intelligence community staff.

Passage of H.R. 2219 would cost the average U.S. family over $6,200.

Another spending bill that is beginning to move is H.R. 2354, the Energy and Water Development Appropriations Act, 2012.

The bill would fund the Department of Energy, the Army Corps of Engineers, the Department of the Interior, and a number of other boards and agencies including the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Tennessee Valley Authority.
