Teeing Up the Next J. Edgar Hoover
S. 1103 would extend the term of the incumbent Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The reason there needs to be a law change for this is a 10-year term limit that Congress passed in 1968 because J. Edgar Hoover ran the FBI for too long as his personal, corrupt fiefdom.
In seriousness, the current FBI Director, Robert Mueller, is no J. Edgar Hoover. Not yet, anyway…
