House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan’s plan has shaken up the debate, the Senate budget chairman hasn’t got a plan at all, and President Obama appears poised to revamp his budget plans this week.

Late Friday, Congress funded the government for another week. It must do so again by Saturday or the government will shut down. This and the FY 2012 budget battle will occupy Congress this week.
The House will also debate H.R. 1217, to repeal the Prevention and Public Health Fund. A part of President Obama’s Affordable Care Act, the fund was created to spend $15 billion over 10 years. Passage of H.R. 1217 would save about $118 per U.S. family.
