Bravo! Must Pass!
We’ve long asserted here that bills with clever names should be passed by unanimous acclaim.
So it is that S. 1684 should become law as soon as possible. S. 1684 is the “Managing Arson Through Criminal History (MATCH) Act of 2009.”
You see, the first letters of each word in the bill’s name spells the word “match” (which the bill’s name goes on to point out in the parenthetical).
It’s an acronym! Get it?
And a germane one too. Matches are a device for starting fires, which is a thing that arsonists do. And not in the fireplace at home. In places they’re not supposed to! They must be stopped. And this cleverly named bill is just the thing to do it.
Happy Friday!
