On the Blog: The Bill With No Name

In its haste to move a spending bill last week, the Senate has passed legislation without giving it a name. Read about this utterly strange situation in blog post entitled: “Senate Passes ‘The ______Act of____’–No Foolin’!.”

Special: Cnet news has picked up the story.

Featured Item

Last week, before recessing for the rest of August, the Senate passed H.R. 1586, known strangely as the “______Act of____.”

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has announced that the House will return this week to vote on the bill.

Among other things, the bill spends money on an “Education Jobs Fund” and on Medicaid funding for states. Passage of H.R. 1586 would cost the average U.S. family about $125.
