Taxpayer? . . . Sucker!
About 47 percent of households will pay no federal income taxes for 2009.
Are you paying taxes? Fool!
Actually, it might be easy to get the wrong impression from this report. The income tax is only one way to hand over money to the federal government. Tariffs mean that you pay some federal tax on imported goods you buy—and things made from imported goods. The corporate tax is passed on to consumers in higher prices too.
So it’s not like everyone not paying income tax is getting off scott-free. But it’s still remarkable to realize that half of the people, the taxpayers, might be supporting government for the rest—the tax consumers.
During the annual spending process, which has only just begun, you can see where all the spending goes. (Our most recent post was called The President’s Budget—Agency by Agency. We’re due to write some more on it soon.)
In the meantime, enjoy filling out those tax forms. You’re not alone–but you’re more alone than you thought you were!

The American people had better get used to the idea of the value added tax because it is coming. The services our gov. provides cannot be provided by a small sliver of taxpayers paying a maximum tax. It simply cannot be done. The die is cast.

I certainly understand the concern about 47% of the population not paying income tax. I fall into that category, but all I can say is that I wish I made the requisite amount of money to be subject to taxation and yes, I also understand that the government will get their unfair share from me by all of the other sneaky ways they get our money. All I can say is that obama fits the mold for what he is. I have not even seen or are aware of any proof that he is an American citizen, being born in a foreign country. Has he fulfilled the requirements to become a United States citizen??????.
