The House continues with fiscal year 2010 spending bills this week.

It will debate H.R. 3170, the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act, 2010. The bill would spend money on operation of the Treasury Department, the judicial branch of the government, and the District of Columbia, among other things.

Passage of H.R. 3170 would cost just under $450 per U.S. family.

The House will also debate a bill to fund energy, water development, and related agencies. The bill has not been introduced yet, and a cost estimate is not available.

The Senate will debate S. 1390, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2010. The bill would authorize spending for fiscal year 2010 for the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy. It would also prescribe military personnel strengths for the 2010 fiscal year.

No cost estimate for S. 1390 is available yet.
