Voila! A Budget!
Just over three months behind schedule, the President today produced his detailed budget plan.
(He can be cut some slack because it’s hard to produce a budget for a government as large as this during the transition, and he did issue a budget outline in late February.)
The appendix, which has all the detailed information, is only 1,380 pages long. Give it a quick read and tell us what you think!
Congress has already passed its budget plan, which is to spend about $29,000 per U.S. family. Soon, a dozen individual spending bills will be considered in the House and Senate, each one to govern spending in particular parts of the government.
We’ll have fun, as we always do, tracking their progress. And the process could all run smoothly and on time this year!
