Auto Bailout Cost Info
Though the text of the auto bailout bill Congress passed Wednesday is still not available, a summary of it is in the wiki article about the bill. (You’re familiar with the wiki-editable articles on each WashingtonWatch.com bill page, right?)
It turns out the bill is much like the one we looked at here (and here) the other day. Estimated cost? About $88 per U.S. family, or $28 per person.
Though the bill passed the House, reports don’t paint the prospects for the bill as very bright in the Senate. The bridge loan may not be there for Detroit’s automakers.
Here’s the current vote on the bill. Click to vote, comment, learn more, or edit the wiki article about the bill.
