The Housing Bill and WashingtonWatch.com Statistics

One of the pleasures of running a site like WashingtonWatch.com is seeing where the information we produce travels on the Web, and all the communities that use it. A current example is this story on DSNews.com.

What is DSNews.com you ask? Well, it’s the “premier and most up-to-date news source for professionals working in the evolving default servicing industry,” of course! (I’m pretty sure that’s something to do with home loans and stuff.)

The story does provide a good summary of the bill being debated this week, and it notes the cost-per-family calculation that we display on our page about the bill. (Learn where figures like this come from on the “about” page.)

People in the home loan and mortgage service business have been active on several of the bills on our site, and their discussion lends some insight into the issues being debated. It’s just one of dozens of communities that congregate on our pages, and we’re glad to have them.

Here’s the latest vote on H.R. 3221, the Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2008. Click to vote, comment, learn more, or edit the wiki article about the bill:
