Summary

Funding will be used to replace the federal bridge at Slocum Creek. The bridge, constructed in 1925, is well beyond its service life and is rated as Structurally Deficient by the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The project is on the North Carolina TIP. Preliminary scoping for this project by the North Carolina Department of Transportation has begun. This bridge is unsafe for travel and must be replaced immediately to preserve the safety of drivers.
