(show me on a map)

Summary

This funding would serve to continue the Ronald Reagan Parkway construction, which ultimately connects I-70 and the Indianapolis International Airport to I-65. With the original northern and southern segments of the project completed or underway, this project will focus on the construction of the middle segments. The Ronald Reagan Parkway is a 4-lane highway project in Hendricks County, Indiana. The project provides critical north-south access through the second fastest growing county in Indiana, connecting the communities of Avon, Brownsburg, and Plainfield, while relieving congestion on I-465, on the west side of Indianapolis. This project has previously received federal support, including $570,000 in last year's Appropriation's cycle.

I live in Plainfield and am against this stupid waste of federal dollars. Our county didn't have enough money to finish the road before they started construction and now want a bailout for their stupidity. We'll pay for our own roads. Why should anyone but people in Hendricks pay for this?

We typically honor our greatest American leaders by naming things after them. It won't be done soon enough for me. It should really help our traffic problems here in Brownsburg and the rest of eastern Hendricks County. Oh, for someone like President Reagan now!

Why has Hendricks political leaders and officials slept while the residents of this county have struggled to find ways around the county. Ronald Reagan Parkway should be done. It is the only connection from I65 and I 70 on the West side of the Metro area of INDY. Maybe the state of Indiana should step in and stop the fighting and delays.

While I am all for completing the Ronald Reagan Parkway from the airport North to I-74 (and I-65, I suppose), frustration is hardly a good reason for some all-powerful government to step in. My understanding is that the cost of the proposed overpass over the former Big 4 RR yards in Hendricks Co. is the holdup.

I just moved to Brownsburg. Does anyone know why this parkway remains unfinished? It would be a great asset if it's ever finished!

The entire project will not be completed until 2013. The bridge over the big 4 yard should be open by summer 2012. all that is left in that area is the connection from from 200s to 100s
