August 7, 2009, 4:20pm (report abuse)I would love to see this happen. The stimulus money needs to start to trickle down to a grassroots level. The Rogue Valley needs good jobs and Plexis provides them to people that would otherwise live and work elsewhere.

August 7, 2009, 4:29pm (report abuse)This would provide jobs in Southern Oregon. This would also allow expansion of needed technology by a capable, tech-savvy, upstanding employer.

August 7, 2009, 4:43pm (report abuse)Plexis is enabling newer technology to support next-generation healthcare I.T. This funding would support this effort that would have far-reaching benefit beyond southern OR, as Plexis clients would be able to take advantage of this development, and Plexis clients span all 50 states and support tens of millions of healthcare insureds across the country. EDI allows for the automation of healthcare transactions, which ultimately significantly reduces the administrative costs of U.S. healthcare, providing a definitive ROI on this potential funding.

August 7, 2009, 4:54pm (report abuse)Tools of this nature are required to help ease the burden of exchanging information between systems and healthcare organizations. It can help organizations with their implementions and the ongoing effort in ensuring the accurate exchange of information between disparate systems. Current industry difficulties increase costs and thus contribute to the cost of healthcare. The goal of the proposed effort is to help reduce costs and should be supported.

August 7, 2009, 5:12pm (report abuse)Senator Wyden shows us yet again that his priorities are in the right place. We've seen plenty of "bridges to nowhere" in Federal budget earmarks, but this money will be spent in the development of much needed high-tech health care solutions, multiplying itself many times over to help boost the local economy. This is an outstanding example of how our tax dollars should be spent. Bravo!

August 8, 2009, 4:27pm (report abuse)What a crock! Six people post on this within an hour, talking about how good it is? The administrative staff of Plexis Healthcare Systems, on the bosses orders I'll bet! Let taxpayers in Oregon pay for this pork!

August 20, 2009, 12:57am (report abuse)I have a question (or four): Why should a privately held company in a small town in Oregon get federal tax dollars? Can someone make a case as to what the benefit to the United States as a whole is? What is the oversight/accountability associated with the funds that will be granted? If someone could make a case for this I might actually buy into this, but since I really really don't like pork spending probably not...
