I read the bill and don't see the downside from a consumer's point of view. Please, someone explain why this is not in my interests as a consumer. I got my first telemarketer call on my cell phone last week. I pay the bills on that phone. The caller ID on my cell phone will get the same heavy use as the one at home. The political calls are driving us batty and the government won't stop them.

I do not understand what they have done. I thought this was to make permenant the "no call" listing of of my phone numbers so that I do not have to re register after five years. I would also like it to include text messages; faxes, emails addresses and NO POLITICAL CALLS EITHER.
Lost in the jargon,
M.

I'm tired of my elderly parents, although registered on the no-call list, are STILL getting calls from "Heather". Unfortunately they do not have caller id, so we have no idea where they are coming from. They have been on the do not call list for a long time. In fact I re-registered them today in hopes of eliminating this nusiance. Please find a way to shut them down or at least leave my folks alone. Two calls over the course of 2-3 days is 2 too many. Thank you!
Donna
I'm on the Do Not Call list, but my cell keeps getting text messages from telemarketers. Isn't that illegal? Can we go after them for fines???
just me
I have tried everything to get these people to stop. I purchased one of these: http://www.storm-whistles.com
They are advertised as the loudest whistle in the world. When the recording is finished, I press 1 to speak to a person. When I get them, they get an ear full.
