H.R. 1552 would amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to authorize physical therapists to evaluate and treat Medicare beneficiaries without a requirement for a physician referral.

This is a great addition to healthcare. Physical therapists are being trained at a doctoral level of education. They should be trusted to make sound healthcare decisions just as other healthcare providers. Not to mention this could decrease the cost to patients and insurance.
