This could result in some interesting consequences. This I've got to see.

McCain can't work a PC

The bill was written by McCain, who doesn't even know how a computer works. Anonymous browsers. Hacking. piggybacking onto your servers and PCs. Multiple screen names. Similar sounding screen names too, so there's a chance the gestapo or some crazed vigilante shows up at YOUR door because your screen name is Donnie6849 when Donie6849 was soliciting a kid online. This law is simply a McCain ploy to try to beat Obama

This bill is UNCONSTITUTIONAL according to a ruling in the United States District Court just the week prior to the House passing it...

Doe v. Shurtleff in the United States District Court for the District of Utah found a similar Utah State law, requiring sex offendered disclosure of internet indetifiers to be UNCONSTITUTIONAL on 25 September 2008.

Actually, this bill was sponsored by Charles Schumer, and McCain is only 1 out of about 30 co-sponsors. Just about all of the co-sponsors are liberal democrats, so don't blame McCain.

Doe

This is absolutely rediculous, and this has gone to far. I believe that these lawmakes should be punished for creating so many laws one after another knowing full well that they are unconstitutional. This law serves no purpose but to violate peoples constitutional rights that are guaranteed.

Jane

Anyone with children and anyone who is not a sexual predator would be in support of this. Anyone against it, well, firgure out the inference. And why would this be turning into an issue about the Presidential candidates anyway. This law is a good step (no matter how likely to be useless) in a positive direction. It has nothing to do with McCain or Obama whatsoever. It's law now, so deal with it and drop the politics.
And if you can't spell ridiculous, don't expect anyone to think your comments are worth reading.
Read my words, Doe: Public Law 110-400 (no longer a bill). Suck it up.

John Doe

Jane, The Doe in the comment above your is not the Doe in the comments above it. So lets go with John Doe, instead.

Regardless of whether or not the President signed S. 431 into law does not make it legal or constiutional. So, no I will not suck it up.

The United States Government can expect the same challenge as the State of Utah's law warranted. And, regardless of whom supports this Bill it is illegal regardless because it impinges on the most fundamental Constitutional rights of 600,000+ citizens of this country. Rights that none of these citizens have waived, and no offenders, sex offender or not, forfiets thei fundamental rights as a result of a coviction.
