This bill is very improtant to the citizens of eastern Oklahoma and many other rural areas where viewers are forced to get their television news and sports from stations located outside the state in which they reside. Congress previously granted exemptions of this type to satellite customers in at least four states. There is no reason that Oklahoma residents should not be afforded the same opportunity to watch Oklahoma TV.

If you live where I live in Oklahoma (Ottawa County - Extreme N.E. OK) you get locals from Joplin, MO/Pittsburg, KS and it is terrible. We never know who is running for state offices. Plus if you went to School at Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, or Tulsa Univ. forget any coverage of these Oklahoma teams. I can't count the number of time when tornado watches or storm warnings have been out for our county and the Joplin, MO/Pittsburg, KS negelect us in Ottawa county but they have pulled all of the Tulsa locals except 1 station from our cable line-up because they know they stink in coverage. The Joplin, MO/Pittsburg, KS motto is your going to watch watch us or else! Please let us have a choice for our safety sake!
