Compulsory military service is simply un-Constitutional! This program should have been abolished a long time ago.

Neil B Leonardi

The Idea of entertaining the national service act is suspect.
the national service act is a draft, it would include both men & women,it would put women in harms way to be raped and killed,it would destroy what is left of the traditional family,it would give any president the ample manpower to wage war anywhere on the globe.
like the one we are now fighting in Iraq, the volunteer army was a great concept, until George Bush pushed it to it's limits. so it would appear that our future wars will be fought by mothers & daughters, fathers & sons, maybe would should include their children as well. I was a former draftee from the Vietnam war, I think we need to what ever possable to stop this madness.

give peace a chance

selective service was abolished for a short period in the 70's, then it was re-introduced into action by then pres. Carter, which also called for female registration, congress rejected that provision. These cowardly courts have repeatedly shot down challenges to the current provision, though it is clearly gender bias and illegal "read 13th ammendment" just another way to erode your civil rights, DONT COUNT ON THE COURTS FOR CHECK'S OR BALANCE THEY ARE RUBBER STAMPS WHO SUBVERT THE CONSTITUTION.
