H.R. 390, The Preservation of Records of Servitude, Emancipation, and Post-Civil War Reconstruction Act (2 comments ↓)

H.R. 390 would require the establishment of a national database in the National Archives to preserve records of servitude, emancipation, and post-Civil War reconstruction and to provide grants to State and local entities to establish similar local databases.

The preservation of American historical records should be of upmost importance to us all. I ask that H.R.390 be supported and funds made available for the creation of state level databases to provide access to these rare and irreplaceable documents.
