Public Law 109-295, the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act for 2007, provided funds to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for 2007 operations. H.R. 5814 would authorize the appropriation of money for fiscal year 2007 to fund DHS operations. In addition, the bill would authorize the appropriation of funds for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and a few other programs within DHS over the 2008-2012 period.

The DHS has become the new Gestapo. Hassling citizens has become it's mantra. Voted against. Disband DHS entirely.

The $500,000 paid to Bush cronies to create an evacuation plan for New Orleans, prior to the arrival of Katrina, which did not include the 127,000 people in New Orleans who don't own cars--was a waste of taxpayer money. So much for no-bid contracts in Homeland Security!
