I get a lot of money from all you taxpayers and I LOVE EVERY PENNY OF IT!

Keep on giving me more money. I won't complain.

Me too. Everything I get from the government would go up when they add on the Cost-of-Living Adjustment.

I just love getting those bigger checks from all you taxpayers every month.

Too bad you all don't get those kinds of raises.

YEP!

And a lot of what I get from all you taxpayers is tax-free. So I don't even have to help pay my way.

I sure do enjoy getting those checks from the government every month. Makes it easy for me and the wife to go on vacation several times every year.

Keep those raises coming. I like them.

I sure hope some of these bills giving more money to retirees are passed soon. That will put a lot more money in my pocket and on top of that a bunch of it is tax-free. I like that.

Keep on giving me more money and you sure won't hear me complain.

Like I said - keep sending me those checks. And I'll take every raise you want to give me. Looks like we will get 3 or 4 percent this year. Love it.

Just a few more days and the CPI will tell us what we can expect. Sure hope congress gets off their backsides and gets this passed. I sure would appreciate a raise.

At least these four have some intestinal fortitude. They have put forth cuts in veteran benefits to help offset the budget deficit.

Sen. Patty Murray, the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee chairwoman

Sen. Richard Burr, the Senate’s committee’s ranking Republican

Rep. Jeff Miller, the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee chairman

Rep. Bob Filner, the House committee’s ranking Democrat.

It's time veterans stood up and helped reduce the deficit instead of constantly whining for more.

OK, 3.6 percent for social security and military retirement. So now's the time for congress to get this passed for vets too. I'm sure looking forward to that nice increase in my checks. Might buy myself a new bass boat this year.

YEP!

October 20, 2011, 3:20pm (report abuse)

Alright. They passed this and the house passed theirs. Now let's get together and get that money in my checks.

Yessir, now I'm going down to the boat dealer and start looking for that new boat.

I agree with you Sgt Maj he is both, he is just mocking Disabled Vets.

He has been on other site and I don't think YEP is his only call sign.

Why should veterans have their earned benefits cut? They served and fought to keep this country free. Do something about all the able bodied but nonworking, lazy people who are getting welfare! Stop giving free medical care to illegals.

Sorry guys but I spent 21 years on active duty in the Air Force.

As far as I am concerned the things I get are just great and I sometimes like to rub it in the faces of those who don't like it. If that bothers you it would be okay with me if you don't read what I say.

By the way, I found a great buy on a new bass boat at Bass Pro. All I'm waiting on is for the gremlins in congress to get their stuff together and pass the raise.

Like I said - keep sending me those checks. And I'll take every raise you want to give me. Love it.

I think welfare reform is more what we need than cutting benefits to our veterans. Just like Yep said he's getting three checks a month, but all three he EARNED! Think of the three welfare checks that are going to one person with three different names just because the system doesn't/can't check and double check itself for duplicates.

ALRIGHT! 3.6% raise.

The house passed the senate version and it is waiting for Obama to sign it.

More money in the January checks.

Thank you to all you good taxpayers. I'll sure think about you when I'm out on the lake.

I think the veterans need to make more donations to those who worked and now lost their benefits. They too deserve to retire and age peacefully. Veterans defend their country doesn't that mean the people who live there???

You folks are sick. You should be graceful for what you are getting.

The civilian population has nothing to do with us veterans not getting any pay raises for the past couple of years. It was our government for sticking their noses where it did not belong belong in Iraq. Everyone took advantage of the situation especially the gas companies.

Sure wish I could put up some pictures of the new bass boat for you all to admire.

Thanks again.

if that raise will buy you a new bass boat it will fit in your bath tub be careful it might get lost in your BOFA

Didn't say the raise would pay for the boat. But it sure came close. You could look back and read about how much I actually get every month from the taxpayers.

Be kinda tough to get that 18 foot tracker in my bathtub.

I agree with YEP, hell we did our time and worked for ours. so if the government is giving why not get it. They give to all these illegals here, where they come here and run down our systems. So get over it.

STOP THESE VETERAN WELFARE PROGRAMS NOW!

In a time when everyone else is being told to tighten their belts and cut spending the veteran welfare progeam is asking for a 10.5 percent INCREASE in their budget. That is pure and simple BULL$HIT!

It is far beyond time to put a stop to all this and cut the veteran welfare programs back to more reasonable levels.

There is no reason for this kind of crap. These whining freeloaders are simply scamming the rest of us for everything they can get.

Tell your legislators you are tired of paying veteran welfare. Tell them to VOYE NO!

Veteran welfare, I hope youre not talking about any veteran who has served this country. Any person who has served their country is deserving off any type of benefits. How many people sit on the sidelines and complain of what veterans recieve but they are the same people who dont take the oath to serve. I think the free loading people are the ones who come to this country illegally and drain the system from deserving americans.

Same O;d Stuff

Just another veteran welfare program to hand out money to a bunch who don't deserve it.
