FYI, people who are coming to US are not coming to work in your farms, clean your backyard, they are holding respectable positions in companies like Google, IBM, MS etc.. Lets not talk like kids.. We Indians like America, because we also believe in FREEDOM. We also believe in work hard. We also believe in Democracy/Peace. That is the reason we have always been a good friend/ally of USA.
By coming to USA we are not just becoming part of USA, we are also making 1.2billions people part of America. Do you know Ford/Chevy have been best car sellers in the last 5yrs in India. Do you know there are more people who like KFC/McD/Subway than in USA. Do you know there will be Walmart/Home Depot coming soon to India. May 16, 2012, 4:21pm (report abuse)There are a lot of factors need to be looked into first. How High-Skilled is defined? What evidence to prove one is high-skilled? Talents along with integrity need to be addressed. Opportunities should be given to citizens first and how to implement it? This will be a very complicated issue. Is it a good time to even introduce such a controversial bill when this country is facing such a high unemployment rate. Don't we have enough talents who can't find any jobs yet? Let's answer these questions before bringing another problem.

Two of the grounds for the request for investigation appear to focus on the instance of a Pakistani national who attempt to bomb in Town Square, New York was one time in the OPT program and the 29-month OPT program practically expand the number of foreign workers undermining the annual cap of H-1B visa program which he is troubled with."

H.R.3012 is eliminating Green Card per/country cap. Even this is passed or not, Worker visa is not /country cap, that brings Indians into USA. Its not stopping any ways. Only when Indian's get the GC's they can start business that creates new Jobs.
Simple factor; If living country is not ur base, they why would you spend your earnings there. So, all earnings are exported to ones home cntry, same happens in US. When US creates confidence ( grant GC's) then spending increases in US. What %of H1b's owns a home here. from my exp.,not even 10%. What are they doing with their earnings; sending to their home country.
Q: Think as CFO, how can you make them spend US, that intern generates trillions of Revenue and new jobs to US economy.
Know how to use resources, don't get scraed of them.70% of money goes to India will be into investments, This states many of them know business, Waiting for an eleigibility (GC).

After getting GC, everyone is eligible to get citizenship in 5 years irrespective of the visa classifications. People who are waiting are prospective Citizens of this great country. Why to show indifference to the prospective Citizens now. I support this bill strongly since the fairness is within this bill. This country needs everyone not just skilled, highly educated and no one can dictate that. First come First served is the Way to GO. Please support everyone.

July 2, 2012, 8:54am (report abuse)Mr. Smith, I have been paid county taxes (upto 3.5%) of my income for last 4 years, when I moved, now I am paying 2%, plus I have been paying federal/state taxes. However, my kids are not using any of the state sponsored schools and facilities. I am sure just like me the other Indians in Orlando are also paying their taxes. No one is living off of your tax money. Plus, on work permit, even though we pay unemployment taxes, God forbid, when we lose our job, we cannot claim unemployment benefits. We have 30 days to get a new paid job, failing which we have to return to India. Having said that, we are not eligible for any social security/ disablity/ Medicare benefits also.
For diversity, there is already a diversity visa in place in which China and India are not eligible.
Having said that, are you sure, during Europe population migration to US, this nation has maintained "healthy diversity population ratio?"

Indian people brought bad work ethics to my working environment. One of my Indian managers treated people badly. For example, forcing people to work over the weekends without appreciation. There are already over than 40% of employment-based green cards issued to Indian annually. Besides, there are so many Fraud cases for Indians in the current H1B and Green card application. Go google Wipro, Infosys or Cognizant...etc. We should not pass any bill which will only benefit to one country. Please stop this Bill.

July 3, 2012, 9:26am (report abuse)(1) I know many of my colleagues and me (Indians) who draw 3 times more than median income of Asian for 2004 which is $32,419. Not to mention (on the contrary to what many anti-immigration web-sites say) that we also pay taxes and are not eligible for any kind of benefits from the govts.
(2) It is cheaper to hire local talent than to go through the hastle of hiring a person from India/ China, pay expenses, pay immigration fees, attorney fees and not to mention maintain legal status. Its really huge money. So did you think then why companies hire Indians?
(3) If someone treats you badly, you can complain to HR and get it resolved. If you dont like the work place, you can always quit and get better offer.
(4) No one can "force" anyone to work against their will.
(5) No one is asking to pass bill to benefit a country, just asking first come first serve just like any place in US where you wait in queue to be served.
So when you say "save cost" can you be more specific?

July 3, 2012, 11:11am (report abuse)What do you mean by fraud cases for Indians in H1B? You mean to say, USCIS, US Visa Consulate and Port Of Entry officers are not doing their job of scrutinizing documents appropriately? Can you tell us how the fraud is carried out?
I have actively involved in project resource recruitment. Let me tell you, based on my experience, when there are positions opened up for a project, out of many applicants only 10% are US citizens. There is shortage of technical and business analyst resources in this country.

There are so many country immigrants waiting in queue not just only one country. This law now will be painful for few but benefits everyone in long term. It is not easy to be on H1-B / EAD for more than 20 years.

I wonder what is the number game in chuck's mind that made him think half of US population would become Indians. It is really hispanic and african american population is larger minorities after the majority Whites. Also modern day Indian families are much nuclear not morethan 2 kids you could see. It would never top the majority whites, or Hispanics or Afrrican americans. Let us be frank, You folks donot like Indians... so just say that instead of all these gimmicks. Those who stay cannot live elsewhere and those who leave can fight for success anywhere ....... and we lose those people who can innovate, start business...
Finally, we will be left with bunch of non entrepreneurs and illegal’s if we continue like this....
And also I prefer legal’s to illegal’s….

July 12, 2012, 4:32pm (report abuse)A lot of misinformation. Take Hernandez from Mexico. If the bill passes his waiting time will INCREASE, not decrease. EB3 India from 2002-2006 will be ahead of him on the line.
Reality is that this bill only works from people from India. All the rest are at a loss. Even China is approaching the rest of the world priority dates.

Why Don't you try for a bill that favors mexicans only. just like the israeli and irish folks are pursuing? Israel was successfull, Irish also want to leverage 3012. If you Oppose the solution then better have an alternative.

July 13, 2012, 1:45pm (report abuse)We are talking about Employment-based green cards here. If Hernandez wants his green-card faster and if is super talented, then he can always apply EB1. It is current for every country (and yes including India). If they are at EB2 or EB3 level, then FIFO (First Come First Serve) is way to go..That is FAIRNESS...

July 13, 2012, 3:22pm (report abuse)I am from India working on H1B living here legally and paying taxes since last 11 years,serving americans by filling their prescriptions every single day(Iam a Pharmacist), all of my American Customers feel sorry for me that I did not get my GC even after living here for 11 years.MY GC is in EB3 filed in 2005, it will take 15 more years for me to get my GC which is not FAIR. Please vote YES for this bill.FIRST COME FIRST SERVED should be the policy when it comes to highly skilled people.

Because of lawyer's fault we filed in EB3 where as I easily qualify for EB2. I am working for Fortune-50 company all these years in their asset management business.

They have waited for more than six years already just to fulfill the American dream. once this bill has passed the dream of the Filipinoes will be dead... This bill will only benefit Chinese and specially indians... If the visa will be distributed majorly to the chinese and indian how about for the ROW/M/P? This is not "FAIR"... Maybe it would be better if there will be quotas and better if the number of visas will be increased rather than passing this bill as a law.

There are people from India and China who are/ have been waiting for more than 15 years now and GC American dream is very far. Talking about being "fair" - first come first serve is best option. Why do you want to get GC before someone in India who is waiting for 15 years should? What is "fair" about that?

The only fault of those people is that they played by the rules.
Now they get punished for this.

July 16, 2012, 11:24am (report abuse)Right now the only fault of India and China is their nationality. The fair thing to do is to have GC first come first serve. Everyone have to prepare proper documentation and show legal status, period! There are no "playing" by the rules. Everyone have to undergo same set of rules and procedures to follow. So I do not see how abiding by rules is someone's fault.
Prior to per country quota, it was same thing. Why cry now?
