Since most mental health counselors and marriage and family therapists charge lower rates than most psychologists or social workers, why not save money?

This bill makes total sense. LPCs and LMFTs have been covered by private insurance for many years. Medicare currently limits mental health coverage to social workers and psychologists. This bill would greatly expand the mental health treatment options for seniors.

This Bill should be passed in order to allow LMHCs to treat our seniors. LMHCs are equally qualified as social workers. I receive calls from people who could become clients, but have to decline becauseof Medicare. Please consider this Bill and pass it as soon as possible.

As 78 million baby boomers reach retirement age in the next 20 years, the demand for qualified providers will outweigh the supply if this important change does not occur.
