October 20, 2009, 10:22am (report abuse)My Mom died from nursing home negligance in 2008 after they dropped her from a Hoyer lift. Because of the Arbitration clause in a contract my Dad was told he had to sign, it is making it very difficult to prosecute the nursing home for their negligence due to this imbedded clause which is inserted into a long legal document that only an attorney can understand. This bill needs to pass in order to make these nursing home accountable for their negligence acts instead of hiding behind these paid arbitrators who look out for these nursing homes becuase they are paid by them.
Americans need to be educated on this to STOP further deaths due to nursing home negligance.
