August 30, 2010, 4:04am (report abuse)I am very pleased by this move by these outstanding senators. The current Ethiopian government have been using the term "war on terror" to strip the rights of many of its citizens. The Ogaden region has been hit hard by these nonsense technique.

September 4, 2010, 2:38am (report abuse)I am wondering that many people did not recognize the moral obligation that America has in the world. This is the only true democracy on the surface of earth. Nothing is wrong about sharing what is good for mankind. Great job senators!

September 5, 2010, 11:27pm (report abuse)Ethiopia is at its best now and Ethiopians are great full for those how made it happen. It seems there are individuals and organizations who don't know Ethiopian History in general and the recent Ethiopian renaissance in particular. I wonder why criticize Ethiopia now? Please educate yourself what you can do with Ethiopia in positive way not threaten it with Act and Laws that intrude in the internal affairs of independent and proud nation. Your proposed new bill will serve only to derail the goodwill you have had with Ethiopians. US superiority could best served if it works with the current government of Ethiopia who transformed Ethiopia for the better and for good. God bless..

September 6, 2010, 6:08pm (report abuse)Thank you Sen. Russ Fielgold and Sen. Patrick Leahy for your concer to Ethiopia. We Ethipoians who struggle for Democracy appriciate you though we doubt that come into effect as we experianced
We had great hope on the Mr. Obama’s admin. regarding democracy and human rights as Mr. President himself is a human right activist; however, our hope became fruitless. We felt that America stands for Democracy and respect of Human Rights but does that work in American policy for Ethiopia? We understand that the American Government should give priority to the country and fight terrorism as the country tested the bitterness of terrorists’ act more than any other country but it should be taken into account that such dictatorial regimes may also lead the humble citizen into terrorist acts though I don’t expect from an Ethiopian who grew in country where social and religious values take higher place. I cowardly request The USA to stop supporting the dictator and brutal regime and support S.3757.
