The logistics are simply this: Biogas production from waste sources fills multiple needs. It can be used to produce energy as well as fuel transportation. It reduces environmental impact from waste sources; eg. methane emissions from cattle waste is 20+ times more potent a global warming potential pollutant than CO2. The processing produces end products that are less environmentally harmful, and more useful as fertilizers, cattle bedding, etc. Lastly, the avenues for the end products (power, fuel, etc.) are economically sustainable, particularly in the current energy climate, as well as beneficial as a means to ending dependence on foreign energy concerns. It is not the end all solution, but it plays an important role. Please, strongly consider this. Anything we can do matters, and we in Washington have a real opportunity to lead the nation in this endeavor.
