May 7, 2010, 1:35am (report abuse)It sure seems like they are flying this under the radar. It was just introduced February 2010 and is one step away from being voted on.
H.R. 2835: Medical Marijuana Patient Protection Act and H.R. 2943: Personal Use of Marijuana by Responsible Adults Act of 2009 were introduced 11 months ago and aren't even as far along as this bill.
I think the general consensus these days is that the drug war is a total failure and roughly 80% of the population thinks it should be legalized for Medicinal Use, 44-50% think it should be legalized for recreational use.
Why is a bill that goes directly against the will of the public moving faster along than two bills that align with the overall public opinion?
