DO AWAY WITH THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS BILL. IT DISCRIMINATES AGAINST ANY VETERAN WHOSE CLAIM HAS ALREADY BEEN DENIED PLUS ELIMINATES VETS WHO HAVE PASSED AWAY AND CAN NOT FILE ANOTHER CLAIM THUS PREVENTING THEIR SPOUSES FROM RECEIVING ACCRUED BENEFITS. REMEMBER, SPOUSES TOOK CARE OF THESE VETERANS WHO SUFFERED FROM PTSD. I DID AND LOST A RISING CAREER WITH WONDERFUL BENEFITS BECAUSE OF IT.

I agree with Susan. It is yet another effort to dishonor and disrespect primarily the Viet-Nam Vets. I want to submit the 58,000 names on the Wall who have no voice and had no choice. It is my prayer that finally, we will do the right and honorable thing to bring healing to all who have served. We have no problem giving billions to corrupt governments but when it comes to taking care of our own, those who have served honorably and willingly to defend the honor of our country; there is no urgency and responsibilty on behalf of our leaders to stand up and fight for all of us who have risked and suffered through combat. We have to stop the bleeding and heal the pain and wounds. We have the power to do it; but will we? What started out as a "syndrome" turned into a "disorder", "PTSD". Do away with the effective date of the bill. My PTSD began long before the proposal of this bill. I have a diagnosis of PTSD but are denied benefits because the VA has transferred the burden of proof on me.
