April 24, 2009, 3:12pm (report abuse)I very much like the idea of producing coins for the five 5-Star Army Generals (General of the Army); however, why not include the four 5-Star Navy Generals (Fleet Admiral) also? They are William Leahy, Ernest King, Chester Nimitz, and William Halsey. They and the Army Generals were all promoted the same week in Dec 44 (Army, Navy, Army,Navy, etc. on alternate days). I realize this bill was introduced to recognize the Generals that attended the United States Army Command and General Staff College, in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. However, I believe it would be a much better program if it included all the 5-Star Generals. Thank you. CM Lehman, San Antonio, Texas

February 23, 2010, 11:52am (report abuse)I think that this is a wonderful idea. Not only were these Generals great at what they did, they Generals that are pretty well known to the public, especially Dwight Eisenhower, but I do agree with the previous comment to include the Navy Generals as well. All of these people are people that the general public should know about because of their enormous contributions to this country's history. This is a great program that should be implemented as soon as possible and it deserves a lot of support.
