It would appear to me, that since English is not a official language of the USA, all laws written after the Constitution are not official either… So the Gov’t passes this bill or start translating all laws and any documents dealing with voting into all languages. If it doesn’t you were in violation of my families civil rights to have given up their native language to learn a un-official one to become a citizen. The Dem are passing out US to the Mexicans citizenship for votes and not requiring learn English first… That is racist…

For God and Country,

I think your logic is flawed--our Constitution is still "official." I wouldn't do anything crazy in the meantime.

The fact is acquiring a second language is difficult and even impossible for some people. Not for a lack of trying can some people not speak English after living in English-speaking communities for years. Congratulations to your family for learning a language that was advantageous to them socially and economically--not every one is privileged enough to do that.

I agree with this bill. The social fragmentation from our mixed culture stunts the economy and formation of news jobs as well as a smoothly running economy. On the other hand, one of the US greatest strengths is the diversity of its people and maintaining culture and second languages is critical to national success and security.

We need to find ways to better afford government. Look at the monetary consequences of not having Englistr as official languate, costs of printing gov.documents, including ballots in several langurges. Spanish aren't the only immigrants. Immigrants want to pay less taxes also.
