I am a flight crew member for a major airline and because we only get paid when the aircraft doors are closed, most airlines found this loophole and claim we don't work enough hours to qualify for FMLA! My friend was terminated for having cancer and missing too many flights and trips. She was in CHEMO and has her breasts removed. Why are they acting like we don't work? Every other American is afforded this right and we are away from home more than they are. We are not getting paid on an overnights, in the hotel or while boarding the plane. Only when the door goes closed does the clock start for our pay and for our FMLA accrued time. Anyone that votes against this is a shameful person indeed and has no compassion for people with devastating illnesses.

Agreed, Mark. You are absolutely correct. Also, who could benefit most by family leave? People who are away from home most of their working time. This has been long overdue.
