H.R. 897 would amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow individuals a deduction for qualified long-term care insurance premiums, use of such insurance under cafeteria plans and flexible spending arrangements, and a credit for individuals with long-term care needs.

caregivers need a break; we take care of a large majority of elderly that would eventually consume funds from our taxpayers and the gov't.

we are a 82/86 couple and have paid for LTH since 1992..with all the increased costs and no increase in SSI or pensions ..or anything it seems...we need help and this surely would do so. the Greatest Generation is now the Forgotten Generation..we have been responsible citizens but it's not paying off.
